About the Role

Our Mechanical Tradespeople safely perform and coordinate Mechanical maintenance work, including:


* Preparation of work scopes;


* Isolations;


* Handover to and from operations;


* Completion of work activities;


* Commissioning;


* Initial running checks and alignments.


* Component change outs and;


* Routine and ad hoc maintenance requirements.

As a Mechanical Tradesperson at our Portland Smelter you will liaise with internal and external work parties to safely complete tasks to required quality and service levels.

You will optimise the performance of the process and equipment by installing, repairing, commissioning and testing equipment and components.

Key to your success is the effective and efficient completion of tasks whilst upholding our environmental, health and safety standards.

Tradespeople utilise their skills, technical knowledge and methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, and may also direct contractors and audit work quality.

All of the above will be in alignment of Portland Aluminium’s Reliability Excellence (REX) and Alcoa Business Systems (ABS) methodologies.
