Business Systems Analyst, Lead

Position Summary

Manages business systems projects and acts as a technical resource for management and staff, in accordance with Company guidelines, client needs and legislative requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities


* Acts as a mentor and technical resource for the department.

Answers questions, provides assistance, conducts training, verifies work, and provides back-up on all other BSA work.


* Leads best practice Requirements Engineering steps including elicitation, analysis, solutioning, negotiation, and documentation.


* Performs and leads additional, more complex project responsibilities in conjunction with business systems analysis, i.e.

national system development projects, corporate tax reporting, multi-system enhancements, etc.


* Writes detailed design specifications for system enhancement and data conversions; coordinate and monitor data interfaces with vendors and clients.


* Demonstrates critical thinking and formulates and documents test plans and test cases.


* Tests programming changes due to bug fixes, enhancements, development, and version upgrades.

Collaborates with programmers to drive quality output.


* Conducts and documents testing activities including, but not limited to functional testing, regression testing, usability testing, and performance testing.


* Analyzes data from various and multiple mediums, and identifies solutions related to data integrity and redundancy issues pertaining to client conversions/ implementations.


* Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Effort


* Normal degree of physical effort in typical office environment with comfortable, constant temperatures and absence of objectionable elements.


* May be required to work remotely.

Minimum Qualifications


* Associates Degree in computer science or business.


* Five years of experience working in Information Systems support role or development experience.


* Ability to train and mentor other employees.


* Strong decision making, research and analytical abilities.


* Strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations; willingness to learn and adapt to change.


* Solid understanding of business practices with good understanding of project management methodology.


* Demonstrated technical acumen and ability to effectively communicate with programmer and business partners; strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications


* Working knowledge of SQL.


* Experience working in a healthcare environment or a third party administrator.


* Experience working with Taft Hartley businesses.
