What You Will Do


* Operate various shop machining equipment such as manual and CNC lathes and mills to achieve required precision tolerances, as well as surface polishing to light band quality.


* Perform field equipment machining (heads, flanges, milling equipment bases, etc.)


* Reference industry and OEM guides and drawings to understand required assembly tolerances.


* Drive value creation in the areas of reverse engineering of parts, inspection, shop equipment testing, and precision manual and CNC machining.


* Proactively identify improvement opportunities in our work backlog, processes, practices, shop tools, and procedures


* Disassemble, inspect, measure, and manufacture damaged or deficient rotating & fixed equipment components.


* Support estimating, planning, materials, scheduling, and customer communication processes.


* Work with our vendors to build strategic partnerships to create superior value.


* Utilize CAD tools to document/update reverse engineering drawings.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Machinist experience operating manual lathes and mills.


* Experience using precision measuring tools and holding tight tolerances.


* Ability to read and follow blueprints.


* Ability to reproduce a part without a drawing (reverse engineer).


* Proficient in computer technology.

What Will Put You Ahead


* Experience operating balance machines, ability to set up and balance impellers, shafts, and rotating equipment.


* Specific programming and machining skills in CNC Lathes and Mills.


* Leadership capability experience.


* Experience in inspection and repair of medium to large rotating equipment casings, shafts, and other parts (i.e.: line boring, milling split lines, drill & tap, etc.).


* Experience in field equipment machining (heads, flanges, milling equipment bases, etc.).


* Inspection experience using 3D parts Scanning and/or precision inspection, drawing development tools such as CAD design.


* Experience using a workflow/work order system or computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as SAP and Lean Kit.


* Use of CAM software to program CNC.
