Senior Manufacturing IT System Administrator
Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing IT Systems Administrator is responsible for technical design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the IT systems supporting manufacturing operations.
This includes end-user device provisioning, production system maintenance and troubleshooting, access layer network installation and troubleshooting, general end-user technical support, and participation in larger interdepartmental initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing IT systems (hardware and software) and related infrastructure.
• Proactively identify opportunities for system enhancements.
Design and propose innovative solutions to optimize IT infrastructure, improve system performance, and support the company's strategic objectives.
• Lead the implementation of approved projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and seamless integration into existing processes.
• Provide mentoring and training to junior manufacturing systems administrators.
• Purchase and configuration of computers and peripherals for local and remote end-users, including (but not limited to) needs assessment, quoting, purchasing, system imaging, software installation and configuration, and deployment.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of computer system hardware, operating systems (Windows), application software, and networks (wired and wireless)
• Setup and support of business peripherals, including (but not limited to) phone systems, POTS, VoIP, iOS and Android phones and tablets, barcode printers, and wireless scanners.
• Creates and debugs scripts (batch, powershell, visual basic)
• Proactively monitor, evaluate, and install necessary patches and security updates to ensure system integrity and security
• Preparation and organization of written documentation
• Communication with team members, including quality, maintenance, production departments and customer representatives
• Employee must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally (typically less than 5% of time)
• Exercises appropriate caution in daily work and project-related activities.
Communicates/coordinates changes effectively with the team and adheres to company change management practices.
• Maintains awareness of the relevance and importance of activities and how each contributes to achieving quality objectives.
• Prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours based on business need, and respond to critical issues outside of core working hours
• Participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Works safely and without injury.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent industry-specific certification (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc.).
