Financial Analyst, Commercial
Primary Responsibility
Responsible for utilizing financial acumen, analytical skills, and partnerships with other internal functions to develop commercial proposals for warehousing and value-added service solutions that support revenue and profitability growth.
Essential Functions
* Utilize financial models (including enhancing established models and developing ad-hoc models) to drive business decisions
* Leverage various systems (Salesforce.com, Oracle, pricing optimization software) to gather data and support commercial proposals
* Apply creative thinking in development of commercial proposals
* Establish relationships cross functionally that enable process adherence
* Influence key stakeholders, internal and external, to conform to best commercial practices
* Ensure appropriate stage gates in internal processes are adhered to by stakeholders
* Prepare, host and lead presentations of analysis ensuring alignment from cross functional stakeholders
* Prepare executive level presentations delivering a clear message
* Foster collaboration across functional groups to enhance profitability and advance commercial terms
* Assist in preparation of financial reporting essential to successful commercialization of business
Qualifications & Experience
Education, Training & Professional Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Business Administration
* MBA/CPA/CPP/CFA a plus
* 0+ years in financial analysis, pricing, or a logistics-related role
* Strong experience of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
* Ability to work independently and take on ownership of projects
Knowledge & Employment Standards
* Possess fundamental understanding of supply chain elements, particularly warehousing, associated costs and a transactional pricing environment
* Proven problem solving skills and ability to think creatively and strategically
* Ability to create and communicate and present project proposals in a persuasive and consultative manner
* Ability to manage projects to meet aggressive deadlines
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment of positively changing expectations and culture
* Must be business savvy, possess financial acumen and demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Progressive, flexible and team-oriented approach
Physical Requirements :
• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
• Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
