REGIONAL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and legal obligations related to controlled substances within a specified geographic area.
Implement and maintain an effective controlled substance compliance program (CSCP) and resolve associated problems in a cost-effective manner with a goal of minimizing operational, legal, and fiscal impacts.
Must have thorough knowledge of the Controlled Substance Act, DEA activity and state controlled substance laws and regulations.
Provides guidance and training to pharmacy associates and audits program execution.

* Pharmacist license in good standing
* 8+ years of compliance related experience
* 2+ years of diversified leadership, communication, organization, and people motivation skills
* Ability to comprehend complex regulations, interpret requirements, and translate into operations
* Demonstrated success with implementation of regulatory requirements
* Self-directed, ability to execute projects with minimal supervision
* Excellent administration, management, oral, and written communication skills
* Demonstration of project management skills including budgeting and scheduling
* Ability to handle multiple projects and respond to changing business priorities
* Strong follow-up, accountability, and attention to detail
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
DESIRED
* Experience designing policies, procedures and training to ensure compliance with regulations
* Any prior compliance management or consulting experience within region
* Recognized certification in their compliance area
* Lead, develop, implement, and monitor CSCP policies and procedures and assure company endorsement of these programs for all Kroger entities within a defined geographic area
* Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations within their region; build a positive working relationship with regulatory agencies
* Possess significant knowledge and experience in interpreting the federal, state, and other applicable laws and regulations as it relates to controlled substance compliance; interpret laws and regulations to determine potential impact on business programs
* Conduct site visits and ensure audits and assessments of the CSCP are conducted for all regional locations; review results to determine compliance status and oversee corresponding interventions where necessary
* Maintain up-to-date and organized compliance records; ensure timely preparation and submittal of required reports.
* Coordinate with Health and Wellness leaders regarding audit and compliance review findings and ensure associated corrective action is implemented as necessary
