Regional IT Support Specialist

Georgia-Pacific (GP) has an exciting opportunity for a Regional IT Support Specialist to support 100+ manufacturing facilities across North America.

This position is a key member of the Georgia-Pacific Manufacturing IT Plant organization supporting our Building Products, Corrugated, and Wood & Fiber facilities.

GP is one of the largest Building Products, Corrugated, and Consumer Product manufactures in the world.

What You Will Do


* Support technologies installed in business and manufacturing process environments to include:



* Virtual Windows/Linux Servers with their associated storage devices


* Networking infrastructure (wired and wireless)


* Firewalls


* End user computing workstations


* Cybersecurity


* Operations Technology (OT)


* Process Control Network


* Asset Health

Serve as a primary technical resource for the sites within your region supporting infrastructure related requests and issues, identifying and resolving technical issues, demonstrating initiative and executing tasks according to a defined plan and strategy

Make regular visits and contact with all the sites within your assigned region

Ensure all site assets adhere to cybersecurity standards by installing and maintaining anti-virus programs, and applying patches to plant process workstations, laptops, and servers.

These tasks are not limited to these items and may include additional cybersecurity measures as required.

Participate in an 24/7 on-call support rotation

Work with systems, network, and database administrators as well as technology and business partners to execute application and system design specifications, ensuring seamless integration across various platforms and technologies.

Carry out project tasks to ensure projects are completed on time and meet all defined objectives and standards.

Maintain effective communication with site stakeholders by keeping them informed about IT activities, issues, status updates, timelines, and other relevant details.

Foster open and transparent communication to ensure alignment and collaboration, while working as part of a diverse enterprise support team to build strong partnerships with local site operational and capability teams to achieve value-driven results

Working as part of a team and independently, setting goals, and achieving milestones with minimal direction.

Approximately 50-75% travel to manufacturing sites.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, network support, or IT/OT-related roles.


* Fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience supporting a diverse technology stack (i.e.: VMWare, Windows desktop and server, tablets, variety of peripherals, network technologies (wired & wireless), active directory, group policies, domain controllers, etc.)


* Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
