ZONE MGMT/AREA MANAGER

Assess the stores in the area of their ability to exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance and take appropriate actions if necessary.

Coach and develop store management teams.

Responsible for meeting and exceeding the area and division sales and profit budgets.

Minimum
- High School Diploma or GED
- Any experience in a store or company management
- Effective communication and reading skills

Desired
- Any merchandising experience
- Leadership skills training- Lead store management in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operations initiatives
- Work with store management to identify opportunities in the assigned store, develop solutions and action plans to ensure implementation
- Achieve and exceed revenue and profit budget, as well as targeted goals and financial glide paths
- Drive cost effective sales through store managers to produce and maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink and improve each store's contribution
- Regularly discuss store-level financial performance including developing budgets and other targeted goals with store management
- Achieve return on investment on approved capital projects and assist in identifying potential capital projects opportunities in geographic area of responsibility
- Understand and react to the competitive landscape within the area and division
- Utilize store managers to enable stores to achieve their financial goals and ensure communication, implementation and execution of division plans
- Work with store managers to implement, support and follow up on merchandising, operations, and other change management initiatives
- Provide upward feedback on the communication and effectiveness of company merchandising, operation and change management initiatives to division and corporate staff
- Promote and support strong store relationships with the community
- Act as a company representative in litigation matters
- Facilitate interactions between store managers and division staff
- Demonstrate inclusionary leadership, expect inclusive behavior from team members, and support the inclusionary efforts of the store, district, and division
- Counsel and assist store managers in the development of management team and other store team members
- Identify talent and develop successors for all level positions to include store, division and G.O.
- Work with appropriate HR teams to ensure the adequate recruiting, hiring, training, development and evaluation of store management and all team members
- Travel up to 75% to stores within the division
- Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback to direct reports
