Driver
GENERAL SUMMARY
Drive tractor-trailer or van to make deliveries and pick-ups of finished products, empty drums, raw materials, etc.
Perform safety inspections prior to each trip according to DOT regulations and record inspection results on proper form.
Assist in loading and/or unloading trailers as necessary.
Obtain proper authorization for all deliveries and pick-ups.
Maintain accurate DOT driver log of required information.
When not driving, maintain vehicles and/or perform maintenance jobs as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
* Approve trailer-loading order that best accommodates deliveries and pick-ups.
* Assist with trailer loading (when time allows) according to established loading order.
* Inspect truck according to DOT regulations making necessary adjustments and corrections before leaving.
* Deliver product to customer's location
* Pick up empty drums as required.
* Assist in unloading at customer site if required
* Assure customer signature to acknowledge deliveries
* Complete DOT driver log sheets daily.
* Return completed shipping paperwork to Plant Office.
* Notify supervisor of and schedule vehicle repair and/or maintenance as necessary.
* Perform other maintenance jobs as assigned when not driving.
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Education
* High school diploma preferred.
* At least 2 years prior experience driving tractor-trailers.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
* Basic math/measurement skills
* Basic reading and comprehension skills.
* Current CDL license with proper endorsements (i.e.
hazmat certification)
* Proper current DOT certification (current medical card, identification card, etc.)
* Acceptable driving record for past seven years as required by DOT.
* Forklift operation experience preferred.
* Good written and verbal communication skills
Reasoning Ability
* Determine correct processes regarding standard DOT and company truck driving requirements with regard to material transportation and vehicle-operating procedures as instructed in initial and ongoing training.
* Work without continuous supervision while completing assigned tasks.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* CDL license with proper endorsements.
* Complete WCC forklift training and receive approved forklift driver status.
* Class B CDL required.
