Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor

DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors to join our team.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Supervisor, the Construction Inspection Supervisor will monitor and document that the roadway and/or bridge project is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Responsibilities include:
* Inspect various facets of work on the transportation construction project site
* Communicate with client
* Coordinate staff assignments
* Take field measurements and perform calculations
* Prepare and review relevant inspection reports
* Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used
* Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions
* Perform other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* High School Diploma (or equivalent)
* Must possess a valid driver's license
* Experience working in a transportation construction-related field (PennDOT or PTC preferred)
* ACI Field Technician Certification, PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification, NICET Certification in Highway Construction, ECMS Wave 5 training, Materials Testing or Bridge Condition Inspection, and Troxler Nuclear Gauge Certification, are preferred but not required.
* Proficient with iPad for PennDOT's ECMS and CDS/NeXtGen systems
* Must be a strong leader with the ability to manage and mentor subordinate staff
* Possess basic math skills necessary to perform computations for length, area, and volume
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures
* Availability to work various shifts, including night shift.
Overtime is often required.
* Position may require overnight travel and is subject to seasonal layoff
* Ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions.
Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $34.60/hr to $36.21/hr based on experience and certifications.
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
