Crew Development Coordinator
Overview
Support the daily operation of Vessel Personnel by assisting in the management of crew development.
Responsibilities
* Ad Hoc Projects as directed by Manager.
* Supervise Maritime of a Towing Vessel Officer Training Program (MOTV Program).
* Coordinate the training and professional development MOTV (Covered and Uncovered) steersman.
* Creating individual training plans.
* Conduct Steersman Orientations for Covered and Uncovered Steersman.
* Coordinate with Crew Development Manager on MOTV steersman placement and training process.
* Ensure all postings in CMS for MOTV steersman.
* Coordinate MOTV steersman payroll through CMS / Ceridian.
* Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to generate offer letters and benefits packages for MOTV steersman.
* Maintain Steersman Database.
* Schedule Basic Tankerman Class for MOTV Steersman.
* Schedule First Aid and CPR and Fire Fighting Courses as needed.
* Schedule STCW Renewal Course as needed.
* Schedule Light Boat and Radar classes.
* Schedule Basic Aptitude Assessments and Watchstandings for Covered and Uncovered steersman.
* Coordinate the logistics and travel for all MOTV steersman on a daily basis.
* Update and distribute Kirby’s USCG Designated Examiner list.
Submit Wheelman for their USCG DE.
* Maintain MOTV Training Measurable.
* Coordinate Kirby’s COOP Internship Program.
* Order trinkets and supplies for steersman program.
* All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast pace atmosphere.
* Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
* Ability to follow instructions well and make decisions with limited supervision
* Organized, detail-oriented and accurate
* Excellent telephone etiquette and manner
* Ability to multi-task and take on various tasks
* Knowledge and use of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in Marine Transportation or Administration.
Experience:
Preferred 2-3 years related experience in marine barge transportation.

Typical weekday hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm and after hours calls.
Some travel may be required.
