Geotechnical Engineer
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION:
Michael Baker is seeking a skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team for the AMTRAK Connecticut River Bridge Project.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of the bridge by conducting thorough geotechnical investigations and analyses.
Responsibilities include:
* Conduct detailed site investigations to evaluate soil, rock, and groundwater conditions specific to the Connecticut River Bridge site.
* Perform geotechnical analyses and design foundations, retaining structures, and other geotechnical elements for the bridge.
* Prepare and present detailed geotechnical reports, including recommendations for construction and mitigation measures.
* Collaborate closely with structural engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate geotechnical findings into the overall project design.
* Monitor and evaluate geotechnical aspects during construction to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
* Utilize advanced geotechnical software and tools to model and analyze subsurface conditions.
* Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team, ensuring adherence to geotechnical best practices.
* Ensure all geotechnical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
* 4+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on bridge projects.
* Knowledge of CTDOT construction policies and procedures is preferred.
* Experience working with AMTRAK & Metro-North railroads is preferred
COMPENSATION
* The approximate compensation range for this position is $94,569- $145,157.
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
