IT Business Systems Analyst III

ABOUT THE POSITION

T he Riverside County Auditor-Controller (ACO) has an opportunity for an IT Business Systems Analyst III located in Riverside.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Deputy Auditor Controller plays a critical role in supporting Aumentum, the Riverside County Property Tax system.

This position will be responsible for extracting and analyzing data from the property tax system to create custom reports and insights using advanced SQL and SSRS report writing.

The role involves conducting systems analysis and design to evaluate and document current and proposed business processes, identifying opportunities for improvements through technology, and assessing cost-benefit scenarios.

Working closely with end-users, stakeholders, and vendors, the analyst gathers and refines user requirements, configures software, customizes business applications and interfaces, and facilitates the implementation of new or modified processes and systems.

Responsibilities include designing solutions, training users, managing application development, and overseeing installation and testing phases.

The analyst develops project work plans, schedules, and status reports while monitoring resources and ensuring successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, SSRS report writing, and Excel, including macro development.

Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI, local government property tax systems such as Aumentum, public-facing websites, HTML, and Drupal is highly desirable.

Additional expertise in software programming and MS SQL database design and development is a plus.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Conduct systems analysis and design of business processes involving evaluation of current/proposed information & business process flow, available/emerging technology (hardware/software) and cost/benefits.

Develop and document user requirements from end-user input for new and/or existing systems, business processes and applications.

Implement new/modified processes/systems by performing design, application development, installation & testing.

Modify software; customize business applications and interfaces.

Coordinate and communicate with end users, management, staff and vendors on project issues and status.

Assist in developing project work plans/schedules and monitor project resources including staff time, vendor work and finances.
