Safety Relief Valve Tech

Role and Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while testing, inspecting, and repairing Pressure Relief Valves (PRV).  The Safety Relief Valve Technician will be part of a team and a leader that will assist in coordinating repair work for each customer to meet their needs and deadlines.

This position will require the use of a computer or laptop in the field to be able to document and record repair work for the customer and for the company’s own records.

This position requires a high level of strength in communication skills and customer interactions.

Must be able to work independently and in a group.

Key Duties:



* Maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of pressure relief valves as well as measurement and valve related instruments.

Including, but not limited to:


* Fill out and document relief valve information into a traveler document during any shop repairs.


* Disassembly, cleanup, and evaluation of parts


* Sandblast and paint when required


* Assembly of repaired equipment


* Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities – cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, recommended actions etc.


* Understand and follow company procedures that are in line with quality manual for safety valve repairs


* Customer communication – technical assistance, troubleshooting, assisting with quoting / determining disposition of repairs


* Assist developing required parts list for Insides Sales to quote repairs


* Coordinate repairs based upon requirements from a customer

Qualifications and Education Requirements:



* 10 Years of Relief Valve Experience Minimum


* Experience with Field Test Systems (EVT, AVK or ACCUTEST)


* Positive attitude and a willingness to learn


* Good Mechanical Intuition


* Self-motivated and able to thrive without direction from supervisor


* Any machining or welding experience is a plus but not required
