Telephonic Critical Support Nurse (RN):

Remote, Work from home, United States.

Schedule Information: These are EVENING SHIFTS.


* Four 10 hour days ( 1:30pm to 12:00am Central time) ; or

Three 12 hours days ( 11:30pm to 12:00am Central time) with an additional 4 hour shift on a 4th day


* Days off will vary week-to-week


* Must be available to work overnight shifts on occasion (1-2 weekdays per month, and 2-4 weekends per year)


* Evening and overnight shifts include a shift differential


* All shifts include every 3rd weekend and some holidays

Position Overview:

This busy 24/7 clinical call center receives and responds to a wide variety of incoming calls from patients, clinicians, referral sources, hospitals, etc.

in support of chronic therapies, including Home Infusion Therapy.

This team also takes after-hour calls for all divisions of Accredo Health Group Specialty Pharmacies.

What You'll Be Doing:


* Triage incoming calls from patients, clinicians, hospitals, etc.

Intervene to address life-threatening medication interruptions.


* Guide patients, caregivers, clinicians through assessment of potential disruption of medication administration including pump malfunction, central line problems, and patient error.


* Troubleshoot issues with infusion devices, answer infusion access questions, and provide other therapy support.


* Coordinate communication between patient, caregivers, pharmacists, nurses, hospital staff, and physicians.


* Ensure product and supplies are provided in a timely manner.


* Contact appropriate personnel as needed, and document transactions in patients' e-chart.


* Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all services, products, and resources provided by Accredo and continually incorporate new product and service knowledge.


* Assume an active, professional role in identifying trends/needs as they develop within the scope of customer/client contact.

What You Must Have:


* Registered Nurse (RN) multistate license in good standing, with ability to obtain licensure in all 50 states


* Nursing Diploma, plus 8+ years of relevant RN experience; or


* ASN degree, plus 5+ years of relevant RN experience; or


* BSN degree, plus 2+ years of relevant RN experience (BSN is preferred)


* Ability to work the shifts listed above


* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, and Power Point


* Understanding of legal and regulatory issues


* Ability to compile data and statistics


* Strong customer service focus and the ability to counsel patients


* Able to develop and maintain a cross section of networks


* Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
