Diamond Turning Technician IV
Under minimum supervision and utilizing own experience and knowledge of diamond turning processes, sets up and runs 2-axis diamond turning machines.
Works on volume production and specialty runs which are highly complex or involve the production of prototypes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Accurately program and operate Diamond Turning machines, including Nanoform 200/250/700 aspheric generator machine.
* Learn to use other advanced precision machinery as time permits, including Form Talysurf, White Light Interferometry, Interferometers, and CMM's
* Identify surface quality of various materials such as Aluminum, Zinc, Germanium, and Silicon.
* Clean parts using acetone and other cleaning chemicals.
* Read from blueprints to determine requirement of part.
* Use measuring and inspection devices to measure and inspect parts for compliance to manufacturing tolerances.
* Provide inspection data electronically or hand-written as required.
Education & Experience
* High school or GED, and completion of CNC Programming Trade school or relevant course work preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to operate all department machinery with over 6 years directly related training and/or experience.
* Experience with Optical Manufacturing and handling a plus
* Experience with support metrology (CMM, Interferometry, Talysurf) a plus
* Basic computer skills with understanding of G-Codes and M-Codes

+ Knowledge and skill in applying mechanical and standardized analytical and evaluative methods, techniques, procedures and/or policies which relate to diamond turning processes.
