Medical Records Coder- Remote- Cigna Healthcare
Job Summary:
The primary function of this position is to perform ICD-10-CM coding for reimbursement from documentation review.
The medical records coder reviews, analyzes, and codes as supported by documentation.
Identifies providers that may need additional education on ICD-10-CM documentation requirements or training.
Maintain 95% coding accuracy rate along with meeting daily production, adhering to current Cigna Medicare coding guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
Must possess and maintain an active coding credential through AAPC or AHIMA, which may include Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist for Providers (CCS-P), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Minimum of one year experience as a medical records coder.
Experience with HCC coding.
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CMS coding principles and guidelines, and familiarity with physician-specific regulations and policies related to documentation and coding.
Knowledge of Medicare Risk Adjustment, and HIPAA regulations.
Proficiency with ICD-10-CM coding and guidelines.
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and have excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Participates in team and company meetings.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Risk Adjustment coding
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 23 - 35 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
