Software Engineer III - DevOps Cloud Engineer, AWS

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Platform Engineering Services Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities


* Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.


* Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.


* Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.


* Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.


* Coordinate and manage infrastructure upgrades, change management, and release management process across the platform.


* Provide primary infrastructure operational, optimization and engineering support for the public cloud platform.


* Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience


* DevOps and/or FinOps experience in a cloud environment and terraform.


* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.


* Experience in one or more programming languages like python, shell scripting, java, Groovy.


* Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods


* Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef for provisioning and configuration management.


* Understand containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.


* Proficient in AWS and on-premises infrastructure.


* Understand agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security


* Hands-on experience with observability tools and technologies, including monitoring systems (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace), logging frameworks (e.g., ELK stack, Splunk), and distributed tracing (e.g., Jaeger, Zipkin).


* Practical cloud deployment experience in AWS Cloud services and native data technologies such as AWS EMR, Glue, Lambda, MSK, RDS, ECS, EC2, EKS etc.
