Pay: $17/hour

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am-4pm

JOB SUMMARY:
The Instructor, Day Program develops and implements curriculum for the Possibilities Day Program in our classroom to effectively teach participants with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to facilitate their independent functioning in a work and community environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Curriculum Development, Design, and Instruction:
* The Day Program Instructor will utilize a curriculum that teaches Activities of Daily Living and Vocational skills in order to teach our participants how to move towards greater independence.
Under the supervision of the Possibilities Activity Lead and working together with the team of other instructors, the classroom teacher will help develop a new curriculum that meets the objective of teaching participants daily living skills as well as implementing an established curriculum.
The Day Program Instructor will monitor individual learning and facilitate training as needed.
The instructor will conduct Focus Groups with the participants in their classes in order to get their input on curricular ideas for their program.
Program Documentation, Tracking, and Reporting:
* The Day Program Instructor will be responsible for documenting the curriculum, creating lesson plans, monthly calendars for their class, expense report requests, and filling in other paperwork, as required.
Relationship Management:
* The Day Program Instructor will keep the Activity Lead informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information regarding the learning areas.
In addition, the Day Program Instructor will participate in team meetings and in-service training sessions.
The incumbent will deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines, communicate significant problems to the Activity Lead, and perform other duties as required.
