Your Role: Biotech Analytical Scientist

This role is a member of Elanco’s Global Quality Control organization and is based at the Elanco Technology Center (ETC) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 The Biotech Analytical Scientist will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments to develop, validate and transfer analytical methods supporting Elanco’s Biotech product portfolio (vaccines, biologics, viral vaccines, viral vectors, etc.).

 The Biotech Analytical Scientist will work with other Global Quality Control and Technical Services / Manufacturing Science (TS/MS) scientists and the network of Elanco’s internal and external Quality Control laboratories in the effort of optimizing and modernizing analytical control strategies.

Your Responsibilities:


* Execute and analyze laboratory experiments for method development, validation, and transfer, utilizing techniques such as ELISA, western blotting, and bioassays.


* Adhere to Bio-Safety Level 1 (BSL-1) protocols and maintain Good Documentation Practices.


* Prepare assay reagents, maintain laboratory equipment, and manage day-to-day laboratory operations.


* Collaborate with scientists across various disciplines, including quality assurance and manufacturing.


* Communicate and present data effectively in alignment with team and company goals.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):


* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific field.


* Required Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in laboratory settings, particularly in bacterial or viral characterization.


* Top 2 skills: Understanding of immunoassays and vaccines, along with technical problem-solving abilities.
