Cytotechnologist

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, FTE 1.0 position.

Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

No weekends or holidays.

Hours may vary based on department needs.

Help play an important role in microscopically screening patient samples to help detect cancerous or noncancerous conditions.

We are seeking a Cytotechnologist to:


* Perform microscopic screening of gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA) slide preparations, for the detection of precancerous and cancerous conditions.


* Make independent diagnostic evaluations during microscopic screening of gynecological and non-gynecological smears and cell blocks.


* Assist at Fine Needle Aspirate's by reviewing patient clinical history, completing requisition form, preparing and staining slides.


* Retrieve all appropriate quality control data from the laboratory information system.


* Establish and maintain an inventory and ordering system for all supplies.


* Receive and accession cytology specimens.

Qualifications



* Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, biological sciences, or a related field Required


* Completion of an accredited cytotechnology program.

Required


* Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology Preferred

Work Experience



* 1 year experience as a cytotechnologist Preferred

Licenses & Certifications



* Cytotechnologist (ASCP) certified within 180 Days Required


* Specialist in Cytotechnology (ASCP) certified Preferred
