Materials Coordinator

Do you want the opportunity to purchase, source, negotiate pricing, and manage delivery of key equipment and materials? How about work for an independent company in the Rocky Mountains where you can make a difference?

As a materials coordinator you will help us by sourcing mechanical parts and equipment, negotiating price, and managing delivery of key equipment and materials for both capital and expense projects.

Responsibilities:


* Work closely with project managers and engineers to develop request for proposals for equipment, materials, and contractor services.


* Identify potential suppliers and contractors based on project requirements.


* Gather data to create bid tab summaries and coordinate bid comparison reviews with a cross functional team to compare and analyze competing proposals.


* Function as a point of contact between the company and vendors.


* Work to validate materials to be purchased for projects by checking PI&Ds, performing job walk downs and/or working closely with multi-functional teams.


* Track a project’s plan procurement activities, which includes but is not limited to
+ 1)  Ensuring timely delivery of materials to support project plans:
+ 2) Working to improve lead-times
+ 3) Facilitating delivery of materials
+ 4) Helping to validate materials received
+ 5) Confirming necessary supplier testing documentation and other forms are received and filed
+ 6) Managing a projects material tracking


* Manage goods coming in from overseas to complete customs clearance and connection for ground transportation.


* Hold and attend meetings with project teams, management, and suppliers.

Requirements:


* Five plus years of experience working in industrial procurement and/or material coordination


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills


* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to succinctly summarize information


* Strong interpersonal skills, must be willing to regularly engage in-person and over the phone with internal stakeholders and external suppliers


* Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to work multiple projects at the same time


* Ability to understand and use software platforms


* Experience working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, to take tasks through to completion


* Knowledge of regional fabricators, suppliers, and construction companies


* Ability to read drawings, part specs, and P&IDs


* BS degree in business or engineering preferred
