Job Summary:
The Sr.
Data Center Cabling Specialist will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for cabling/data installation projects.
Sr.
Data Center Cabling Specialist task will be to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Lead team(s) of cabling technicians and installers, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Typically in capacity of site lead for small to large projects.
• Will consistently run major project crews; assume responsibility for effective performance and provide necessary training; assume responsibility for adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines and hold weekly safety meetings; initiate performance related communications and escalate to Project Manager if necessary.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute cabling projects, including the installation, termination, and testing of network and communication cables in accordance with industry standards.
• Conduct site surveys and assess cabling requirements to determine appropriate materials, equipment, and resources needed for each project.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop cabling plans and strategies that meet the organization's infrastructure needs.
• Coordinates with Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines during cabling installations and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex cabling issues, utilizing specialized tools and equipment to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
• Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing, including fiber optics, copper, and coaxial cables, to ensure optimal network performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of cabling projects, including as-built drawings, cable records, test results, and project progress reports.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cabling and network infrastructure.
