Child Support Services Supervisor

ABOUT THE POSITION
The County of Riverside's Department of Child Support Services seeks a Child Support Services Supervisor.

The position will be based in Riverside, CA.

The selected candidate will oversee the productivity and performance of individual team members and overall team.

The Child Support Services Supervisor will be responsible for providing statistical reports on team progress, identifying and resolving workflow impediments, and ensuring high standards of work.

They will also handle escalated customer calls with exceptional service, address personnel issues, ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality protocols, and create a professional and safe work environment.

Additionally, the incumbent will be approving timecards, distributing tasks, facilitating team meetings, and mentoring future Child Support leaders.

Competitive candidates will possess the following:


* Associate degree or higher


* Two years of leadership and/or training experience, or at least two years of experience as a Senior Child Support Specialist.


* Experience working for a County Child Support Services agency.


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) is essential.


* Strong writing skills and effective communication abilities in group and individual settings.


* Excellent critical thinking skills and sound decision-making capabilities.


* Proven ability to promote and support an environment of cooperation and respect.

Services provided included locating, establishing paternity; establishing, modifying and enforcing a court order for child support; and establishing, modifying and enforcing an order for health coverage.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate the work of an assigned team or staff engaged in conducting assigned portions of the division staff development program.

• Determine in-service training and staff development needs from subordinate staff assessments, supervisory and management input, and analysis of family/child support laws; ensure high standards of work performance and compliance of the staff with policies and procedures of the Department of Child Support Services.

• Research, analyze, and develop recommendations on family/child support legislative issues.

• Provide instruction on policies and procedures concerning family/child support collection operations; act as a resource person on collection activities and procedures.

• Expedite workflow; implement new methods, procedures, and organizational changes for processing casework; study casework processing to measure the efficiency of work completed or to seek improved methods and procedures.
