Flint Hills Resources is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team.

FHR IT is undergoing a rapid transformation as we quickly adopt more modern platforms that touch on every aspect of our business.

As a Data Analyst, you will be a key part of this modern transformation.

This role is located at our headquarters in Wichita, KS.

What You Will Do


* Work directly with our business to understand their needs and deliver data for experimentation, industrializing once the experiment has been proven


* Grow, through influence, a data enablement mindset across the organization and mentor others on how to think about data


* Work across the organization to ensure we capture and fix data quality issues that are found on FHR's data platform


* Create and optimize queries for data retrieval using Cypher, VQL, and SQL


* Improve and streamline existing user created processes


* Deliver new content and support existing data assets on FHR's data platform


* Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and follow-through


* Ability to prioritize day to day and long-term responsibilities, this role will require an ability to quickly shift from longer term work to experimental work

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Query languages experience, especially in the following languages: Cypher, SQL, VQL


* Ability to rapidly develop proof of concepts, test new ideas, and industrialize into production systems


* Experience developing and supporting business analytics applications such as Power BI, Excel, MS Access, or other data visualization platform


* Strong communication skills and ability to convey data standards and practices across various stakeholders

What Will Put You Ahead


* Experience with Neo4j Graph database and Cypher


* Experience with data quality and stewardship


* Experience with Denodo


* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics


* Familiarity with development languages (Typescript, Python, etc.)


* Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google, or Azure
