Workers' Compensation Coordinator

Heluna Health is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Coordinator to join our team.
Under general direction, this position is responsible for facilitating the Workers’ Compensation claim handling process in accordance with established policies and procedures from inception until the claim is closed; evaluating accident and injury reports to determine accuracy and completeness; assisting in the investigation of workplace accidents; ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The salary range for this position is $27.40 to $31.67 per hour commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Review accident and injury reports for accuracy and completeness.
* Assist with the investigation of workplace accidents.
* Report claims information accurately and promptly to the appropriate third-party administrator (TPA).
* Initiate contact with injured employees to explain the Workers’ Compensation process as it relates to the injured employee.
Provide an overview of your role, the role of their Claims Examiner, and the return-to-work program.
Also, confirm injury details for accuracy of claims reporting.
* Document conversations and maintain an accurate electronic file of communication related to the injured employee’s Workers’ Compensation claim.
* Maintain ongoing communication with injured employees, supervisors, and claims examiners.
* Assist the Claims Examiner with obtaining additional information, such as earnings reports and return-to-work dates, for servicing and handling of each claim.
* Create action items for follow-ups (e.g., work status, QME/AME appointments, etc.).
* Obtain medical note from the injured employees after each medical visit to determine if accommodation is needed or return to work date.
