Project Manager-Research

The Research Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple, complex projects through all phases of the project management lifecycle, from defining the scope, planning, and execution/implementation.

As project manager, he/she works collaboratively with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Investigators, administration, and staff.

This individual proactively identifies problems, risks, barriers, and challenges, and clearly thinks through and communicates potential solutions for resolution.

He/she will work with leaders and their teams to complete project deliverables, build positive professional relationships, and model the Nemours Standards of Behaviors.

Primary Responsibilities:


* Competent with project management methodology and knowledgeable in lean processes, methodologies, tools, and techniques.


* Effectively manages all project phases with accountability for multiple deliverables.

Defines and tracks project milestones.


* Effectively translates the needs of research, clinical, and business owners to help organize and create project plans with defined deliverables,


* Takes initiative, and is self-directed, while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork for maximal efficiency and effectiveness.


* Demonstrates ability to effectively respond to time sensitive issues, meet deadlines, and manage shifting priorities, in a timely and thorough manner.


* Creates and utilizes tools and techniques to ensure executive sponsors and project stakeholders are engaged and informed about project status, issues, risks, barriers and/or challenges.


* Uses the established escalation mechanisms to identify, document, and seek resolution on major problems and risks.


* Serves as a change agent.

Champions change and is comfortable escalating to supervisor when there is (anticipated) trouble with change adaption.


* Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.

Knowledge, Formal Education, and Training


* Bachelors degree required.


* Background in project management, change management, research, and/ or healthcare preferred.


* Knowledge of continuous improvement philosophy, lean leadership, and problem-solving methodologies preferred.
