ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside seeks candidates to fill positions throughout Riverside County.

A list of eligible candidates will be established to fill current and future vacancies.

The Riverside County Information Technology (RCIT) Department is seeking to fill a Temporary IT Communications Analyst - Level I who will be part of the Converged Communications Bureau and will focus on data network operations throughout the Western region of Riverside County.

The department is seeking candidates to perform network assignments that require knowledge and proficiency in data communication and voice networking.

The IT Communications Analyst f ield responsibilities will include analyzing, constructing/installing, monitoring and repairing data networks.

The department desires candidates who are familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, can work independently with minimal supervision, apply their experience and expertise in network operations while being customer focused.

Highly competitive candidates will have network cabling experience, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or BICSI ICT Certification.

The IT Communications Analyst I is the entry-level classification in the IT Communications Analyst series and is distinguished from IT Communications Analyst II.

The latter is a separately allocated journey-level class in which incumbents are expected to work independently, requiring little supervision.

Advancement to the next level is obtained by competitive selection through an open recruitment.

Work Schedule: 9/80 Monday- Friday.

7:00am - 4:30pm (Every other Friday off)

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Install communication (e.g., radio, computer) and other equipment in or on vehicles; install communication (e.g., radio, microwave, computer, telephone) and other equipment (e.g., infrastructure equipment, cabling) in office and other buildings (e.g., remote microwave/radio tower sites); perform preventative maintenance on communication network and/or components.

• Install and configure network hardware and software; update system documentation; coordinate system/component upgrades and repairs with vendors and users; monitor the work of vendors to ensure compliance of enterprise standards for products and services; provide user training regarding equipment and network utilization.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and resolve malfunctions of equipment and devices (e.g., computer, radios, microwave, telephones, and cabling); diagnose, locate, and repair network malfunctions.
