Senior Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Services team.

The Knot is the nation's leading wedding marketplace, providing our couples with a personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey.

The Platform Services team develops services and APIs that are used by internal teams supporting all of our brands and products.

We are focused on providing tools to our engineers that streamline the application development process and empower teams to build quality products more efficiently.

The services you will be working on are the backbone for A/B testing (experimentation), feature flags, analytics integrations, and much more.

We have ambitious milestones but we also have a commitment to quality and agility.

New code at all levels of the stack is expected to be extensible, high performing, scalable, and secure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



* Help to design, create, and maintain services that provide the best developer experience along with quality analytics tools to enable teams to make data driven decisions for all products in the TKWW ecosystem.


* Produce well-tested, maintainable, and efficient code for highly available and performant systems.


* Be an advocate for quality and curious about technology.

You should like exploring new ideas and sharing what you know about everything from architecture to process.


* Collaborate in an Agile development process to help conceive, make, and deliver new products and features.

You should have an opinion on how to delight our users, and enjoy collaborating closely with engineering, product, and design.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:



* Minimum 4 years experience as a software engineer building microservices and APIs.


* An ability to work autonomously on projects as needed and mentor junior engineers by sharing guidance on best practices and current code standards.


* Experience building services and APIs in a modern stack.

New development is primarily done using Node, Typescript, React, and Next.js.


* Frontend web development experience using React is a plus.


* Experience working with various data stores such as Postgres, MySQL, and Snowflake.


* Experience with cloud infrastructure, microservice architecture, and containers is a plus.

We use AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.


* Familiarity with modern testing frameworks.

You should consider solid test coverage to be essential as part of the development process.


* Experience working with Jira, Git, and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.


* Comfort working in an agile process supporting the SDLC.
