Medical Assistant, Specialty Care Free Clinic (OB/Gyn)

Work Schedule :

This is a part-time, 20% FTE days shift position.

Shifts will be scheduled Tuesday mornings and either Wednesday or Thursday mornings, no weekends required.

Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay : UW Health offers a competitive compensation package.

Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay.

External hires may be eligible for up to a $600 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).

The Specialty Care Free Clinic is the only clinic in South-Central Wisconsin to offer free specialty care to uninsured patients.

We are dedicated to providing consultative diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services to low income uninsured adult patients living in and around the Dane County area of South-Central Wisconsin who are referred by primary care providers.

We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to:

* Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, document chief complaint, medications, and allergies, and assist with exams and procedures.

Education :

Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent and ONE of the following:


* Completion of an accredited medical assistant program OR


* Licensure as an LPN OR


* Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program OR


* Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee OR


* Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated OR


* One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

Work Experience :

Preferred - One (1) year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN
