Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Material Coordinator to join our Ashland LLC, Specialty ingredients business at our Calvert City KY location.

This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Materials function.

This position will report to the Materials Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


* Coordinate all drum/IBC loads with carriers (outbound and some inbound)


* Tender loads utilizing Ashland's TMS (Transportation Management System)


* Maintain and coordinate shipping schedule with Foreman


* Prepare Bills of Ladings


* Print export, domestic and customer specific labels


* Use SAP to confirm shipments


* Assist with purchase orders, receiving, etc.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


* A minimum of a High School diploma


* 3-5 years in supporting shipping


* 49CFR, IATA and IMDG certifications


* Must be highly proficient in the use of computers: email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint


* Must be highly organized and self-motivated


* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills


* Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:


* SAP experience, SAP & Accounting practices is highly desirable


* Microsoft products, excel, and word

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, climb stairs, sit, reach, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear and see.

The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift light to moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

It may also be required to operate a company vehicle on company business.

The incumbent will be required to utilize and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required to perform his/her duties within the manufacturing area including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, respirator, FRC clothing and other PPE as determined to protect the individual.

The Logistics Coordinator must demonstrate commitment to zero incidents and injuries in the workplace and beyond.

The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during site emergencies and respond appropriately as directed by the Site Emergency Director and be capable of evacuating the manufacturing process areas in a timely manner should an emergency arise.
