in West Columbia, SC is looking for an Life Enrichment Assistant-Level 1 to join our team in clinically assessing patient's needs to create the best individualized and therapeutic programs designed to enhance the best quality of life, as well as other duties as request.

Applicant must have a desire to work with seniors, be compassionate, caring, and creative.

The ideal candidate must be energetic and have knowledge of the domains of wellness as it relates to programming in long term care.

Specifically, you are responsible for:


* Assessing patients to determine their therapeutic needs and providing those needs and interest through individualized person-centered programs.


* Provide programs to meet the physical, social, mental, emotional, intellectual, and/or spiritual needs of patients while providing an atmosphere of enjoyment


* Maintain all required records


* Maintain good public relations with the community by contacting and informing local clubs, businesses, schools, etc.

* Attending center meetings as required


* Be aware of the NHC standards and abide by the Better Way promises


* Be aware of and follow all state, federal, company and center policies and procedures


* Be aware of and follow HIPAA regulations

Other important skills are:


* Sense of humor with the ability to laugh at success and failure


* Must be self-motivated, creative with a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm with a willingness to learn innovative ideas and skills


* Possess patience and good organizational skills, assertiveness and be a conscientious person


* Present a professional appearance.


* Flexibility in working hours so that weekend or evening events may be provided.


* Must be a TEAM player.

There is no "I" in team.

Requirements:
- Must have experience in MDS 3.0, care planning, and documentation
- Must be able to work with family members, partners, and the community
- Must have High School Diploma or GED.
-Qualified recreation specialist for activities professional who is eligible for certification by a recognized body or two years experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years (one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting), OR has completed a training course approved by the state
