Human Resources Intern- Reagan Airport
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Intern is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department with projects and administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
2. Performs HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
3. Updates internal and external open job postings.
4. Assist in the recruiting and hiring process (sourcing, scheduling interviews, reference checks, new hire paperwork, etc.).
5. Assists with the administration and maintenance of employment records with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.
6. Assist with implementation of HR Projects including Performance Management and Compensation Module development.
7. Assist with the creation and maintenance of all required Human Resources Forms and works with HR System Manage to automate forms.
8. Perform such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
9. Schedules meetings and interviews as needed for the department.
10. Prepares presentations and department reports.
11. Prepares department invoices and may be required to complete regular and periodic expense/update reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
Education and Experience
Associates degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years’ experience in the field; or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Advanced verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, vendors and/or others as required.
· Ability to apply reasonable understanding in carrying out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Must maintain confidentiality and secure confidential documents and records.
· Must possess knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
· Must be proficient with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
· Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
· Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be detail oriented and organized.
· Strong interpersonal skills, service orientation, and ability to work effectively with others.
