Senior Economist and Policy Advisor

The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking to hire a senior economist and policy advisor with expertise in macroeconomics.
The senior economist and policy advisor conducts and publishes self-directed, policy-oriented research, advises senior Bank management on issues relevant for monetary policy, and contributes to the mission of the Bank.
Solid research achievement, publications in top academic journals, and excellent communication skills are required.
The Research Department provides an outstanding research environment and has a proven track record of producing highly cited work.

Salary and position will be commensurate with background and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct independent and original research on economic issues.
• Convey the results externally to the academic community and general public through published articles and presentations and internally to the Research Department, Bank President, and Boards of Directors.
• Provide commentary and recommendations on current economic developments and policy issues to senior management and others.
• Guide and mentor Research Assistants.
Requirements:
* PhD in Economics and ten years or more
* Excellent publication record in academic journals

Onsite: It is anticipated that you will work onsite for this role.
If you currently reside within the First District it is expected to stay located within the district unless otherwise approved by your management and HR management.
