Maintenance Electrician

Big West Oil is currently seeking an experienced electrician to join our Maintenance team at the North Salt Lake, Utah facility.

We are looking for an electrician for equipment repair, electrical preventative maintenance, and new construction electrical requirements of all industrial equipment at the facility, including all building electrical maintenance.

You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be a self-starter, require minimum direct supervision and display extreme attention to detail.

Position Summary

Position requires the knowledge and experience to understand and troubleshoot from electrical / instrumentation schematics.

Troubleshoot and repair typical industrial electrical equipment, i.e.

perform maintenance on air compressors, electric generators, DC & AC motor controllers, overhead cranes, hydraulics, pneumatics, camera systems, and security systems.

Install raceways, enclosures, lighting systems, wiring systems / devices, motors, pumps, and related industrial electrical equipment.

Responsibilities


* Keep production operating free of electrical problems.


* Ensure all lock-out / tag-out instructions are properly executed by ensuring that no shortcuts are taken and that the equipment being locked-out is tested to confirm that no energy is available after tag-out and prior to work commencing.


* Complete work orders and document preventive maintenance work as directed by supervisor.


* Perform the housekeeping duties in the Electrical Shop and work areas.


* Report and document all injuries and hazards to supervisor.


* Perform any and all duties assigned by supervisor, whether the assignments are electrically related or not.


* Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)


* Highschool diploma or GED


* Journeyman electrician with 5 plus years of industrial electrical on-the-job experience.


*  Proficient in computer usage basics including Microsoft Office Suite and computer maintenance management systems (i.e.

Maximo).


* Proficient in troubleshooting control and power circuits.


* Understanding of Terminal PLC and control systems.


* Must be capable of working at heights, and in confined spaces.


* Must have the ability to work at any time, on any shift as assigned.


* Must display capacity to perform all necessary repairs in order to complete qualification.
