ROLE SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the manager, the Quality Improvement Technician - Parts Collection Center will investigate vehicle parts quality issues arising from reported market defects, complete reproduction tasks and investigation activities, and facilitate information sharing with Fast Action & Solution Team (FAST), Subaru of America (SOA), and Subaru Corporation (SBR).

Focuses on conducting reproducibility verification and detailed investigations of market return parts to promptly resolve quality issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform all of these:



* Collaborates with Subaru of America (SOA), Subaru Corporation (SBR), and other relevant stakeholders to promptly resolve chassis- and body-related quality issues invehicles sold in North America.


* Consults with Manager based on market information to consider optimal reproduction methods and follows the reproduction work plan that is established by Manager.


* Uses appropriate means to reproduce customer-reported issues with parts returned to the Parts Collection Center (PCC) as per the work plan.

This entails installing returned parts on a vehicle or cleaning or analyzing a part; may also need to complete activities such as driving a vehicle, restoring a vehicle or part to its original condition, measuring data, and taking photography.

Uses automotive technical knowledge to complete tasks effectively.


* Summarizes the reproduced conditions and results in a report.


* Based on the obtained results, sends parts to suppliers, Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA), and SBR for further detailed investigations.

Additional Responsibilities:


* Gathers information early on assigned quality issues to expedite resolution.


* Contacts market-related individuals to collect information and obtain necessary details.
