Accountant

Are you looking to start your career in accounting with a growing company?  Antietam Broadband has an immediate opening for an entry level accountant!  As an Accountant, you are responsible for tracking fixed asset project costs and purchase orders for the projects and reconciling the costs to the project purchase order.  You will be responsible for adding the fixed assets to the ERP (currently Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains) and calculating depreciation expense.  You will perform asset disposal and maintaining documentation and calculation of gains/losses and proceeds.  Apply today to work for a growing company!

Rate: $50,000-$55,000/year 

Location: In office Hagerstown, MD

Primary Responsibilities Include:


* Maintains fixed assets projects and PO data in Excel spreadsheets


* Assigns asset tags to fixed assets


* Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects


* Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries


* Maintains general ledger accounts and prepares fixed asset depreciation and accruals for monthly/quarterly/annual reporting


* May perform or assist in performing periodic physical counts of fixed assets and other inventory, as needed


* Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements


* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities in addition to required corporate trainings


* Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

The successful Accountant has:


* 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred


* Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred


* Requires basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel


* Requires excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills


* Requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects


* Must have attention to detail and accuracy


* Must demonstrate good judgment and confidentially


* Must be able to work to meet deadlines


* Demonstrated ability to seek out and seize opportunities and take initiative with little or no direction
