DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Mechanical Engineering for our Akela Engineering & Consulting vertical This position will oversee the mechanical engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems in building projects.
This role involves leading a team of engineers, managing projects from inception to completion, and ensuring all mechanical systems are efficient, sustainable, and meet client requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the MEP services industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and building a successful mechanical engineering team.
This role will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing new MEP business opportunities, developing, and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring the high-quality delivery of mechanical designs to clients.
Leadership and Management:
* Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers.
* Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor team performance.
* Foster a highly collaborative and innovative work environment.
Project Management:
* Oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, from design to implementation.
* Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
* Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project success.
Quality Assurance:
* Identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies.
* Implement best practices for quality control and continuous improvement.
Client Interaction:
* Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise.
* Present project proposals and updates to clients.
* Ensure client satisfaction through effective project delivery.
Sustainability and Innovation:
* Promote sustainable engineering practices.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Business Development:
* Grow revenue from existing client base through ensuring high quality work product and regular client interactions.
* Identify and win new work from new clients.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or engineering related field; MBA preferred.
* At least 15 years of progressive experience in business development and sales, with a focus on MEP services industry.
