Electrical Apprentice/Trainee

Georgia-Pacific's Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Hosford, FL has an incredible opportunity for an Electrical Apprentice/Trainee .

Starting rate is $18 to $22 per hour , during initial training , with goal of at least $24 per hour once qualified .

This role is eligible for a $2,000 staggered Retention Bonus ; Half paid on start, rest paid at successful completion of first semester, if still meeting expectations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety as a value, strive to obtain a thorough understanding of troubleshooting, and work together as part of a Team to exceed production expectations for the shift.

The candidate must be self-driven and contribution motivated but will be partnered with a mentor and trainer to help continue your learning journey.

Initially, working around your school schedule, you will primarily train on a dayshift Monday to Friday schedule, but may in time have the opportunity to support production on a rotating shift schedule that provides you as much as 7 consecutive days off in a 4-week cycle.

What You Will Do

By the completion of training, your minimum learning goals will include: Program, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment and systems using the following tools and skill sets:


* Allen Bradley PLC and Control Logix


* Intouch HMI


* Computer, networking, and Microsoft


* Read Assembly drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts


* Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic circuits and control devices


* Understand and use data to improve productivity


* Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures


* Assist crew members and work in a team environment


* Correctly choose and wear personal protection equipment (PPE)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Currently enrolled in, recently graduated from or registering for an Associate's Degree in Electrical or Electromechanical with an accredited technical or college electrical program in the Region

What Will Put You Ahead


* Recent graduate of an accredited technical or college electrical program


* Experience working in a lumber or wood products facility


* Experience operating and/or troubleshooting industrial equipment


* Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing experience
