The Training & Procedures Manager will be responsible for the management and development of the company procedures that govern both Operations and Maintenance.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Work closely with all levels of Operations to ensure that both Operating and Maintenance procedures accurately reflect the processes and steps required to be followed.
* Hire, Manager and support a team of Technical Writers tasked with creating and revising both Operating and Maintenance procedures.
* Provide procedure writing assignments within the technical writing department.
* Assist with operations concerns and or questions.
* Ensure that when developing procedure steps, employee safety is a key component.
* Track the daily progress of the procedure development and update process.
* Meet specific timelines required to meet Operational needs.
* Participate in all levels of audits (Federal, State, and internal) as needed.
* Provide guidance on the regulatory requirements of procedures and their use.
* Provide training on developing procedures to Operations subject matter experts and local Management.
* Work with department leadership to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
* Take on leadership role within the Training department and also build and maintain relationships inside and outside of the EHS&T group.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
* A high school degree or G.E.D.
equivalent is required.
* 3 years or equivalent experience with either technical writing or operations.
* A thorough knowledge of both Operational and Maintenance processes.
* Knowledgeable of the regulations that impact procedures.
* Experience in managing a team.
* Excellent written and communication skills.
* Demonstrated capability for writing easily to understand documents.
* Good writing skills and grammar required.
* Has well rounded understanding of technical writing principles.
* An understanding of the Technical Writers Handbook is a plus.
* Demonstrated time management skills.
* Strong communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and coordinate technical processes are required.
* A thorough understanding of plant and pipeline Operations and Maintenance needs is required.
* Ability to work independently, as well as lead a technical team is required.
* Strong computer and organizational skills are required.
* Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time is required.
