Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Industrial Electrician for our Dudley, NC Lumber Mill.

This position creates value by performing preventative maintenance on machines and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

* Pay starting at $28 per hour based on qualifications and experience


* Potential sign on bonus of $2,500

What You Will Do


* Troubleshoot electrical problems on plant equipment.

(DC Controls, AC Controls, & Up to 480volts)


* Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant electrical equipment


* Use PLC to troubleshoot & maintain production equipment.

Able to Access, Understand, & Troubleshoot.


* Install and inspect new equipment and machinery


* Work in a team environment with minimal supervision


* Use deductive reasoning to diagnose and repair electrical manufacturing equipment & PLC.


* Assist Production and other Maintenance technicians as needed


* Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures including performing proper lockout/tag out procedures


* Ability to wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) (i.e.

hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)


* Schedule of working 8 out of 14 days, with every other weekend off.


* Knowledge of OSHA and National Electrical Safety


* Knowledge & Ability to access PLC Logic to use as troubleshooting tool.


* Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control Logics PLC's & Allen Bradley AC Drives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* At least two (2) years of electrical experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment OR an associate's degree or higher in Electrical Technology


* Experience with single and 3 phase electrical repair/trouble shooting up to 480 volts


* Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC's, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers and drives

What Will Put You Ahead


* An associate degree in an industrial electrical field


* PLC knowledge or formalized training


* Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment


* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, chains and sprockets, rigging, belts, reading hydraulic schematics and blueprints, precision measurement, and precision alignment of motors and couplings
