Leader in Training, Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will work under the direction of the AVP of Financial Reporting and will participate in providing accounting support to the Finance Department.
The Staff Accountant will perform various tasks including but not limited to premium processing, claim processing, account reconciliations, month end close procedures, and quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
* Perform monthly/quarterly journal entries in Workday and ensure proper accounting treatment for all premium and claim transactions
* Complete financial analysis of related premium and claim accounts in support of financial statement preparation
* Complete all monthly/quarterly reconciliations
* Assist with GAAP and STAT financial schedules
* Assist in the implementation of the financial data warehouse.
* In addition to the above key responsibilities, may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
* Basic computer skills, ability to use standard office equipment required
* Familiarity with GAAP reporting and Sarbanes Oxley
* Ability to enhance and adapt processes and procedures, and related documentation
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or Finance
* Must be able to work in the U.S.
without current or future sponsorship
