SOC Analyst - Tier 1

Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a SOC Analyst Tier I to support a federal Homeland Security customer in Denton, Texas.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of cyber threats, information security, security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and incident handling (NIST SP 800-61).

Familiarity with conducting security monitoring in a SIEM, such as Splunk or similar tools, is essential.

The candidate must also have knowledge of TCP/IP ports and protocols, IDS/IPS systems, and basic incident handling and response concepts.

Required Skills:

- Requires a BS degree and 2 years of relevant experience.

Additional years of experience and cyber certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.

- Per contract requirements candidates must possess an active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

- Must have one of the following security certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, SANS Certification, or equivalent certification.

Desired Skills:

- Experience in a SOC environment

- Top Secret SCI clearance.
