RN (ED) - Loan Forgiveness & $25,000 Sign-on Bonus - Full Time, Nights (Norwalk)

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is specially trained to provide prompt response and treatment for any patient presenting with any life threatening, emergent, or urgent medical need.

Provides monitoring and therapeutic equipment necessary to provide specialized nursing care to acute or complex patients.

Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients, ensuring the coordination of care between other disciplines, physicians, and support staff.

Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychosocial, psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.

Will reevaluate patient response and outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge and revise plan or make referrals as necessary.

Acts as a role model and mentor to a variety of new graduate nurses, orientees and support staff.As an acute care, 50-bed community hospital, Norwalk Community Hospital provide quality healthcare to the Norwalk and surrounding communities.

This includes our 24/7 emergency department and more than a dozen specialties, including pulmonary, gastrointestinal, cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, surgical services and more.Required Qualifications:


* Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California


* Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing


* AHA Basic Life Support


* Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English


* Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays


* Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a constantly changing environment


* Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only)


* AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support


* AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support


* One year of previous emergency nursing experience or completion of emergency department training course (to include EMTALA and ESI 5 level triage within first six months of employment as RN in the Emergency Department)


* De-escalation certification upon hire; Upon recertification, SAMA Certification required

Preferred Qualifications:


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing


* Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families


* SAMA Certification upon hire


* Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)

Sign On Bonus Eligibility: To be eligible for the Sign On Bonus, you must have one or more years (1+) of acute care RN hospital experience.

Current Alta Hospital employees are not eligible and former Alta Hospital employees may not be eligible.

The Sign on Bonus Program is only available for full-time RN positions.

Bonus payments are made in increments over the course of 24 months to active employees in good standing.
