Summary: The Director of Parts, in close partnership with the Regional Directors of Operations, will be responsible for parts operations strategy through the Stewart and Stevenson and United Engines distribution locations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

* Responsible for setting both short and long term strategy for parts departments across the distribution companies


* Drives a customer service focused culture and looks to continually improve processes to support that goal


* Identifies, develops, and implements best practices for parts departments across the branches to deliver a cohesive, efficient operation


* Refines KPI’s to measure department success and works with individual locations to drive performance


* Develops an employee training path for parts department employees to develop and retain talent


* Represents the parts departments in cross functional growth initiatives through partnership with other departments such as sales, purchasing, pricing, and service.


* Works in partnership with demand planning team to find creative opportunities to reduce slow moving inventory


* Manages all forms of freight recovery to ensure costs are passed along and operating as an additional profit opportunity


* Establish and maintain parts department bonus program that aligns incentives with department growth initiatives


* Develop and maintain relationships with current and future OEM’s to ensure partnerships yield long term success for both parties


* Ensures proper inventory control processes are in place and being performed correctly


* Responsible for compliance with internal and external audit procedures within the parts operations


* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements


* Bachelor’s degree in relevant business field


* Minimum 5-8 years of parts distribution experience in positions of increasing responsibility


* Must be willing to travel to multiple locations across the territory to meet business needs, up to 50% of the time


* Ability to lead multiple optimization projects without direct supervision


* Must be able to connect with parts representatives and be able to convert their needs to actionable initiatives
