Job Description:

At HPE HPC & AI Storage, we build the filesystems and storage solutions to enable the largest national labs science discoveries, help supercolliders find new physics, enable major universities research, increase the accuracy of weather forecasts & simulations, empower major automotive organizations to complete fluid dynamics simulations on race cars, and other exciting workloads.

In this role, you'll have an opportunity to support the engineering R&D processes for developing the next version of the world's largest and fastest supercomputers and their associated filesystems.

Responsibilities:


* Work closely with colleagues and engineers to understand their hardware and software needs, ensuring the lab meets or exceeds those requirements.


* Remote Hands Support: Provide remote hands-on support to software engineers for hardware-related issues, including server reboots, swapping defective components, and assisting with hardware upgrades or installations.


* Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.


* Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the systems design organization.


* Ideal candidates will be empowered to complete sometimes ambiguous tasks with autonomy and good technical judgement.


* Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:


* Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.


* 6+ years of experience in Network Engineering, preferably in a lab engineering support role

Knowledge and Skills:


* Experience with compute server or storage product support preferred


* Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems required.


* Experience with inventory management and procurement processes required.


* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly required.
