We are seeking an experienced DevOps Tools SME to join our team.

As a DevOps Tools SME, you will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance on DevOps tools, processes, and improvements.

Your role will involve evaluating, implementing, and optimizing the tools used for continuous integration, deployment, and automation, ensuring the efficient and streamlined operation of our infrastructure and development.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Serve as a SME on DevOps tools, evaluating and recommending tools that align with the business goals and objectives

• Assess existing process and toolchains, identify areas for improvement, and propose, maintain, and execute solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools such as Jenkins, Git, or Azure

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practice using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

• Monitor security controls to support a comprehensive compliance program

• Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes to enable scalable and portable deployments

• Provide training, mentorship, and guidance on best practices and tools; support the fostering of a culture of continuous improvement

Project Specific Education and Experience:

• Due to contract requirements, an active Secret Clearance is required

• Bachelor's degree: additional experience would be considered in lieu of degree

• 12+ years of experience in the related field

• Must be based around the Annapolis Junction, MD area and be available for on-site work, if the need arises

• Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

• Strong knowledge of monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK

• Knowledge of common software and tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Jira, VMware, etc.

• Team player, fast learner with ability to work proactively and independently to support mission critical operations supporting geographically diverse locations.
