PreOp Postop Hlding , Registered Nurse

About the Job

As part of the multidisciplinary team, this position is responsible for the preoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients. A successful team member in this position is a team player, flexible with assignments and scheduling, and is able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

 Highlighted Responsibilities

· Management of patients from newborn to 18 years old preoperatively and phase II level of postoperative care

· Multidisciplinary communication to ensure safe, developmentally appropriate care

· Provide communication and education to families to ensure involvement and understanding in their child’s care

· Assess and prepare patient for surgical procedure including PIV placement, lab collection and medication administration

· Documentation in EPIC EMR system

· Assess and monitor patient postoperatively in preparation for discharge

· Average day utilizes 1:4 patient ratios and caring for 30-40 patients

· Services include ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastics, General Surgery, Urology, GI, Dental, Spine, Interventional Radiology, MRI Radiology

Qualifications

Experience: 2 years’ pre/post-op RN experience

Education: BSN

License: TX RN License

Certification: BLS
