Principal Technical Consultant, Remediation Engineer or Geologist (Principal Level)

ERM is seeking a principal level Engineer or Geologist to join our top-ranked global environmental consulting firm in the Midwest.

As part of a growing and diverse team, you will work on complex site investigation, remediation, and environmental construction projects at a variety of industrial sites across North America.

In this role, you will be part of the project delivery team focused on sites with emphasis on RCRA Corrective Action and CERCLA.

 

 

You will help prepare CERCLA documents including Field Sampling Plans (FSPs), Remedial Investigations / Feasibility Studies (RI/FS) documents and assist client Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) with Remedial Design / Remedial Actions (RD/RA) following a Record of Decision (ROD) and support RCRA Corrective Action document development including RCRA Facility Investigations (RFI) and Corrective Measure Studies (CMS) and the remedial implementation following remedy selection.

You will provide investigation and remedial design input, oversight of investigation/remediation subcontractors, and construction inspectors, and support PRPs with guidance on completing these processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 


* Plan and execute field activities, including nature and extent investigations, design and constructability reviews, preparation of opinions of probable cost, pre-construction conferences, supervision and direct field and office staff, client and progress meetings, subcontractor management, work progress and schedule management, on-site coordination, health and safety field audits, and problem exposure, risk reduction and resolution meetings. 


* Review contractor submittals, including Requests for Information, contract clarifications, contract-required submittals, change order requests, and other documents related to compliance with project specifications. 


* Provide remedial design and remediation implementation support and support construction quality assurance, site development/restoration, earthwork operations, remedial systems, waste management, land disposal facilities, and related environmental projects. 


* Develop and implement site-specific Health & Safety Plans, including monitoring conformance with safety and emergency procedures, conducting daily safety briefings with the project field team, oversight of Contractor safety issues, and maintaining site safety records. 


* Coordinate the resolution of issues arising from subcontract administration. 


* Plan and schedule on-site full- and part-time staff, evaluate subcontractor performance and schedules, and negotiate and resolve change order requests.
