With a dedicated surgical suite, we are seeking a PACU Nurse to care for our pediatric dental patients during their in-office GA sedation appointments.

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Nurse to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in caring for pediatric dental patients during their in-office general anesthesia sedation appointments.

Key Responsibilities:


* Prepare pediatric patients' care areas and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are ready.


* Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.


* Monitor patients according to policy, including vital signs, temperature, and cardiac status.


* Exhibit proper techniques for IV catheter insertion, maintenance, and removal.


* Perform and document thorough evaluations of patients using an approved scoring system.


* Check dressings or operative sites and report any abnormalities to the dentist/surgeon.


* Provide a safe and comforting environment for both patients and their families.


* Ensure patients meet discharge criteria before they leave our care.

 

Qualifications:


* Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.


* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or ICU setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.


* Active RN license as required by the state of employment.


* Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certifications not accepted).


* ACLS certification required.


* PALS certification as required by the facility.
